Complex 250 House Scheme
Located on the site of a Historical Steelworks and Railway Museum, the Upperbank (Bishops Wood) site has significant constraints that required innovative and creative design solutions to maximise the number of units while creating a sense of community and `place`.
Site Constraints
The site includes several disused mineshafts, a primary culvert diversion of a river and high-pressure water rising main. The constraints imposed by these items led to close consultation with the developer, planners and relevant Authorities to ensure the creation of a sympathetic new housing community in the Heart of Swansea (SA1).
Site Progress
Site Construction is ongoing with over 150 units constructed and occupied. The Final Phases are progressing and are in development through continued negotiation with the planners and developer.
